What's the BEST notebook for bullet journaling?

Updated: Sep 28, 2021

The greatest thing about bullet journaling is that you can really use anything you have to hand. Ballpoint pens are perfect. Glue in any random ticket stubs, packaging or odd bits of paper for scrap booking. Some cheap coloured pens if you want some colour. You don’t need to spend a fortune on accessories and stickers (but if you do want some cute stickers then my shop is here 😉)

When it comes down to it, all you really need is a notebook and a pen.

The one thing I will always recommend though, is a dotted notebook.

A5 dotted notebooks tend to work best and they can be dirt cheap to crazy expensive. Every journal I’ve had, I’ve tried a different brand, and here’s what I’ve learnt:

👁 Leuchtrum are, for some reason, a lot of journallers favourite, but personally I think they’re rubbish paper. ( https://amzn.to/2P1JPWr )

👁 Same with moleskine. In fact the moleskine paper is so thin that even ball point pen shows through on the other side…( https://amzn.to/3tz929U )

👁 Scribbles That Matter were pretty good but a little pricey ( https://amzn.to/3anjmKD )

👁 Lemome are 100% worth it and lovely notebooks- cheap but I liked my cork one so much that I used them twice and tried the black one too- both are brilliant( https://amzn.to/3dxMhNX ) ( https://amzn.to/3mZM0Xj )

👁 Dingbats give some money to eco charities and are pretty good quality, as much as I wanted to like it though, I just didn’t enjoy it for some reason but I can’t actually put my finger on anything wrong with them( https://amzn.to/3tyCT2c )

👁 The one I’m about to finish is from a smaller company called Yop and Tom and is *luxury*. They’re on the pricier end but not ridiculously priced and the quality is absolutely exceptional. Really thick pages *chefs kiss*. ( https://amzn.to/3eapbfq )

There are loads of really cheap dotted notebooks out there too, these are just the ones I’ve tried and feel I can recommend.

So I’d go for:

Cheap option, Lemome at £8.99: https://amzn.to/3mZM0Xj

’Luxury’ option Yop and Tom at £17.99: https://amzn.to/3eapbfq

But what’s important is what works for you!
